L.O.G.I.C.
Leadership On Green Initiatives Committee
Environmental Stewards attended a kickoff meeting on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. There were a total of forty-seven 6-8th grade students and eight High School Environmental Ambassadors at the District office complex who participated in an exciting three hour intensive training. The focus centered on energy conservation and efficiency. The students conducted audits throughout the campus in four key areas of conservation: phantom/vampire load shedding, refrigeration, lighting, and heating and air conditioning temperature controls. They reported back their findings for opportunities and were charged with seeking those same opportunities at their school sites!!

Each year millions of writing instruments are needlessly discarded and end up in landfills. Manteca Unified has partnered with TerraCycle to create a second life for writing instruments! It's simple and it's FREE-all costs and shipping are covered by the program. For each approved writing instrument received (pens, mechanical pencils, sharpie, highlighter, etc.) $.02 will be donated to the M.U.S.T. (Manteca Unified Student Trust) who will use these funds to sponsor the L.O.G.I.C. Planet Party Day event each year. Look for the recycle baskets at your school site!
