Award Letter Student Writing Project
Manteca Unified School District and the local Cambalache newspaper have come together for another year to create and educational project for ELD students at the high schools. Each high school has selected a month where they will be given the opportunity to publish one full page of articles in the newspaper. Students will be selecting their own themes and writing all the articles for that month. Weston Ranch students did an exceptional job in the December's edition. Articles focused on football, adapting to other countries, and social pressures. Looking forward to future articles!

MUSD Farm-to-School Program
Students in the farm program along with teacher Ryan Costa are busy at work with planting seeds, plowing, digging trenches, and picking crops. The veggies will be sold to the MUSD Nutrition Services Department and then sent to the school cafeterias. During the winter the students are growing cabbage, bok choy, and radishes. During the summer months the farm grows squash, peppers, jalapenos, watermelon, and more. This is a great experience for the students and the schools are benefiting from the fresh grown vegetables as well.
